Preventative maintenance should be done on a routine basis to maximize the lifespan of floor care equipment. Inspect machines before and after use. Check the exterior body for cracks or stains. Keep machines free of dust and debris because a clean piece of equipment can make a good impression on customers.

On the interior, inspect brushes for small objects; check squeegees for lint or hair and also rips or tears. Joints should be lubricated regularly — end users can ask their distributor or manufacturer for the appropriate lubricant.

It’s critical also to keep an eye on carbon brushes because if they deteriorate, it can ruin the machine’s engine. Finally, don’t put tension on cords or yank them out of sockets; also coil them up properly when done.
