Timekeeping software, whether its using phone, Internet, GPS or handprint technology, can save cleaning operations significant amounts of money by providing building services contractors or custodial departments with accurate work hours instead of budgeting based on shifts.
For example, if janitors work only four hours and 45 minutes of a budgeted five-hour shift, they are getting paid for an extra 15 minutes of work they didn't do. At first glance this may not sound like a lot of money, but multiply that by each day the employee works over the course of a year and also by the number of employees in the organization. That small amount quickly adds up to big savings.
Timekeeping software also has the same effect for employees using the honor system; janitors may be rounding up their hours, but software will keep them honest.
