If distributors want to offer a private label disinfectant, there are a few restrictions to be aware of. All disinfectants must be registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Manufacturers need to get an EPA registration to be able to sell the formulation to a distributor. Then, in order for distributors to sell the product, they, too, will need to register with the EPA. Fortunately, this cost is minimal and some manufacturers even offer to cover this cost.
Failing to comply with the EPA can result in regulatory fines.
