One of the most popular floor machines on the market is the battery-powered machine.
Battery-powered equipment gives cleaners complete freedom to move throughout the facility without having to stop to change outlets. Cutting out those stops, custodial crews can save valuable labor dollars and increase cleaning times.
Battery machines are useful for cleaning wide-open areas, in facilities where noise is an issue or in areas that are sensitive to propane fumes produced by propane-powered equipment.
But like all floor machines, battery-powered ones have their limitations. Although they are cleaner and quieter running machines, batteries do need maintenance. With proper care and storage, batteries can last, but crews should always make sure to have battery back-ups on hand and processes in place for proper maintenance.
