Don't Let Your Cleaning Business Become Too Dependent On Technology
Technology is wonderful when it works as hoped or intended. I try to make sure that I do not get too dependent on software that can glitch, disappear, reinstall the wrong back up and make what hair I have left fall out rather quickly. We have all learned the hard way in this paperless office to print hard copies of everything. So much for saving time or trees.
We have also learned that if our cell phone is going to lose its signal or get dropped it will be when we are trying to close a deal or get a phone number (the number is 678, static, 8, static, 3). It is urgent you call me immediately. We have learned that if the GPS is going to need to be rebooted it will be on the Interstate at 70 plus miles per hour or in the middle of the night on a back road with no signage.
I highly recommend that everyone take advantage of the latest technologies in phone, GPS units, floor machines, estimating tools, QC inspection programs, workloading platforms and anything else that can make your more productive and accurate. Just don't become so dependent that you lose sight of your goals and real values.
Your comments and questions are important. I hope to hear from you soon. Until then, keep it clean...
