The custodial industry has cut back on the amount of harsh floor care chemicals used in cleaning thanks to the growing availability and acceptance of environmentally friendly alternatives. To take that environmental consciousness one step further, some manufactures are exploring ways to eliminate chemicals completely by developing equipment that cleans floors with only tap water.
Instead of using traditional floor machines that can go through considerable amounts of water and chemical, this newer equipment only using electrolyzed tap water, which cleans like a detergent, in automatic scrubbers.
Besides using no chemicals and 70 percent less water than traditional cleaning methods, this equipment also promotes worker productivity. Because it uses less water, cleaners have to go back to the closet fewer times to fill the machine. Therefore, a worker can get more square footage done in a shift.
