4M Building Solutions announced the promotions of Thomas M. Covilli to Executive Vice President of Safety & Risk Management and Gustavo “Gus” Jaramillo to Vice President of Safety, Compliance, and Training.

The promotions recognize two leaders who have been central to building a safety culture that extends from the corporate office to every team member in the field. That culture has produced one of the most decorated safety records in the industry.

4M has earned the BSCAI Safety Award for Large Companies for 29 of the past 30 years. The honor is presented annually by Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI). It recognizes the company with the single best safety record in its category, as determined by an independent panel of industry experts.

Covilli has been a member of 4M’s Executive Leadership Team for nearly two decades, building and sustaining one of the most recognized safety programs in the industry. Promoted from Vice President of Safety & Risk Management, he now leads the Corporate Safety Department with expanded responsibility for loss prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, safety training, hazard assessment, and workers’ compensation and general liability management.

In addition to his industry experience, Covilli held the Certified Industrial Hygienist designation from 1987 through 2025 and remains a member of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, the American Industrial Hygiene Association, and the American Society of Safety Professionals.

Jaramillo brings more than 37 years of facility services experience to his new role, including more than 20 years with 4M. Promoted from Corporate Safety Director, he now carries expanded responsibility for safety compliance and training across the organization. Prior to joining 4M, Jaramillo held director-level training positions with two leading commercial cleaning companies, where he developed deep expertise in operations, compliance, and workforce development.

At 4M, Jaramillo has been widely recognized for his leadership of the Lead 360 Training Program, prepping hourly team members for managerial roles, and his commitment to building safety and compliance capability at every level of the organization. He holds the Certified Building Service Executive designation through BSCAI and is an active member of the American Society of Safety Professionals.

“Tom and Gus are the architects of a safety culture that has defined 4M for decades,” says Mike Fitts, Chief Commercial Officer of 4M Building Solutions. “Their leadership has made safety a core operational value across our entire organization, and these promotions reflect the impact they have had on our people, our clients, and our industry.”
