Cleaning using green products helps protect the health of building occupants. But how do you prove it?
Several organizations and associations offer certifications for green cleaning programs, including Managemen’s (OS1) Green Certification, Green Seal’s GS-42 and ISSA’s Cleaning Industry Management Standard – Green Buildings or CIMS-GB.
Earning a certification helps validate the green cleaning claims being made by your company or facility because they are now backed up by a reputable third-party. Customers will know that you didn’t simply switch to a green chemical or recycled paper product, but underwent an auditing process examining all aspects of green.
A certification also helps differentiate your company in the marketplace. If everyone is offering green cleaning, then it becomes a commodity. But if you are the only one offering a certified green program, than you can market your company to stand out from the pack.
