The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA) announced that it will change its name to the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) in June 2010. The change will coincide with a redesign of its Web site, www.cleaning101.com, to make information easier to access.

"The Institute will continue to support the sustainability of the cleaning products industry through research, education, outreach and science-based advocacy," says Ernie Rosenberg, SDA president and CEO in a news release.

In addition to these changes, the association's Board of Directors recently elected Jane Hutterly, executive vice president, Worldwide Corporate & Environmental Affairs, S.C. Johnson & Son Inc., as its 2010 chair. Serving as Vice Chair will be Robert Chouffot, general manager for higher olefins and derivatives, Shell Chemical LP.

A total of 25 executives from the cleaning product and chemical industries were elected by SDA's membership to two-year terms on the SDA Board of Directors.
