The National Floor Safety Institute (NFSI), Southlake, Texas, has instituted a "real world" certification program to determine if floor cleaners maintain floors according to the ANSI B101.1 standard's definition of "High Traction." Floors categorized as High Traction present a lower risk of slips-and-falls.
Products that earn certification pass laboratory testing along with a 30-day public testing in a real-world situation.
