Application of Augmented Reality or AR for Navigation Concept in Mall Looking for Coffee Shop, Restaurant, and Restroom

Cleanliness has influenced perception of a facility for years. Many studies support this, showing that people wont return to restaurants that have dirty restrooms, for fear they are a sign of what the kitchen looks like. As if that wasn't encouragement enough, now cleaning departments have a new reason to maintain cleaning levels.

It's a common saying, “when you gotta go, you gotta go.” But too often people find themselves refusing to “go” because of a restroom’s cleanliness. That's why Cintas Corporation launched a free mobile restroom-finder app, “Got to Go,” that allows users to find restrooms in their vicinity and rate their cleanliness.

“We’ve all been in a situation where we’ve really had to ‘go’ but didn’t know how to locate the nearest restroom,” said Jillian Bauer, Marketing Manager, Cintas. “Not only does ‘Got to Go’ help users find restrooms, but it also asks users to rate restrooms as a courtesy to future visitors.”

When launching the app, users will see a map showing nearby restrooms differentiated by three colors. Top-rated, clean restrooms are indicated with a green icon; low-rated, dirty restrooms are indicated with a yellow icon; and unrated restrooms are indicted by a blue icon. Users also have the ability to view restrooms in a “list view” which allows users to see a list of nearby restrooms sorted by their distance away.

When clicking on a restroom icon, users will have ability to view the restroom’s rating and rate the restroom themselves. Users can rate the condition of the facility (dirty or clean), supply level (low or well-stocked), smell (good or bad) and whether it’s open to the public or available to customers only. Users can also get directions to the restroom as the app is linked to Google Maps and Apple Maps. Users can also filter the results by location, such as gas and convenience stores; coffee shops and restaurants; retail stores; or government and public buildings.

The Cintas Sponsored Best Restroom nominees and winners are also integrated within Got to Go, so users can locate, view and visit some of the most memorable restrooms from coast to coast.
