The Sustainable Green Printing Partnership (SGP), the authority in sustainable printing certifications for printing facilities, announces the release of the SGP Impact Tracker, in collaboration with Sustainability Dashboard Tools, LLC., now used by many facility managers as well as jan/san manufacturers and distributors to enhance their sustainability efforts.

The SGP Impact Tracker gives printers a single, secure web platform to manage their sustainability efforts and ensure continued progress as they seek to further reduce waste and improve efficiencies.

Sustainability Dashboard Tools, LLC hosts the web application as well as designed and built a certification module to meet the specific needs of the SGP certification.

“Sustainability Dashboard Tools and SGP built a dynamic and customized web application to make the printer certification process more efficient,” says Katrina Saucier, Program Manager, Sustainability Dashboard Tools, LLC. “The SGP Impact Tracker provides members instant feedback on their certification status and progress, while simultaneously transforming the data into actionable results. This further drives improvement reduces negative environmental impacts, and produces cost savings.”

The SPG Impact Tracker allows printing facilities to:

•   Monitor sustainability metrics, benchmark sustainability, successes, and measure operational improvements internally and against other printers in the SGP community

•   Grow business by incorporating powerful sustainability statistics into marketing efforts; this helps attract a growing base of customers who demand sustainable printing solutions

•   Access all sustainability data in one convenient location, making it easier to manage re-certification as well as apply for tax breaks, government subsidies, and other unique benefits for sustainable businesses

The SGP Impact Tracker was officially launched in June 2018. More than 20 printing facilities in the U.S. are already using the tool.

"The SGP Impact Tracker helps us navigate our facility's operations,” says Paul Glynn of Designtex, an SGP certified printing facility since 2009. “It provides a clear path to improve on our sustainability footprint and maintain our sustainability certification.”

Glynn adds that with the Impact Tracker, printers can upload all sustainability metrics such as emissions, waste and carbon footprint, to a single location. It also provides real-time graphics to illustrate status.

The Tracker is expected to become an increasingly robust tool for setting and managing sustainability goals, monitoring certification, and promoting the metrics that matter to the printing industry.
