A recently released survey of 500 laundry professionals outlines that the industry is evolving to become more automated, sustainable, and more efficient overall. Released by Kline and Company, the survey tapped into professionals inside commercial laundries, healthcare facilities, hotels, and more, and highlights innovation and future trends of laundry.
One key finding was that sustainable initiatives is a must. Specifically, 41 percent of professionals already waterless or eco-friendly detergents. Also, nearly half (47 percent) are willing to pay more for sustainable solutions, and 72 percent believe green products will be a requirement within the next 1–2 years.
Suppliers are quickly adapting to meet these evolving needs and are focusing on performance with their solutions.
The survey also determined that automation is an emerging priority in the laundry industry. Specifically, professionals are looking at Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled solutions to help manage resources more effectively. The technology will address number of loads, volume of chemicals and water used, maintenance alerts, and anomaly detection
For commercial laundries, hospitals, hotels, and other high-volume facilities, this data-driven approach means cost savings, efficiency, and reduced downtime.
