The Daily Record has named Steven W. Attman, Co-CEO of Acme Paper & Supply Co., as one of its 2025 Most Admired CEOs.
Attman, who has worked full time with Acme since 1978, leads one of the Mid-Atlantic region’s most respected family-owned distribution companies. With nearly 80 years in business, Acme is now in its fourth generation of family leadership, with eight family members currently active in the organization. Attman works closely with his brothers to ensure the company’s values and vision are at the core of its success. The unique structure combined with one of the industry’s most experienced and creative management teams sets Acme apart as a trusted partner to clients throughout the region.
“The 2025 Most Admired CEOs are extraordinary leaders. They have impressive resumes, work to lead their companies to success and are truly admired by their peers, teams and in the community,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, managing director of BridgeTower Media/The Daily Record. “They help to grow the next generation of leaders in Maryland by empowering those who work for them, those they work with on community boards and through mentoring. The Daily Record is pleased to recognize these outstanding CEOs.”
“Winning this award is really about the great work both our Attman family and the Acme family are doing together every day,” said Attman. “My focus has always been on bringing solutions to the client and ensuring every customer experiences the best service possible. Everyone within our organization is committed to making that happen every single day.”
In recent years, Attman has guided Acme Paper through significant transformation and growth. Since the pandemic, the company has replaced its ERP system, strengthened its presence in Philadelphia to the North Carolina line, and expanded its foodservice equipment, smallwares, and custom packaging and branding divisions. At the same time, as much of the industry undergoes consolidation, Acme has sharpened its identity as the best choice for organizations seeking true value through product selection, service, and strong manufacturer representation.
“I am honored to be recognized among such an inspiring group of leaders,” Attman said. “But at the end of the day, this honor belongs to the entire Acme team. Their dedication and creativity make Acme a very special company; one that delivers customized, unique solutions and builds long-term partnerships throughout the mid-Atlantic.”
Over the course of his career, Attman has also served as president and officer on numerous boards, contributing to the broader community while carrying forward the legacy of his parents, Edward and Mildred Attman, who founded Acme Paper in 1946 with a philosophy of treating every employee and client like a valued member of the family; a philosophy that still drives the company today.
