Scrub Masters Plus Corp is a New York State-certified Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) and holds memberships in the industry’s principal professional associations—ISSA, Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI), and International Janitorial Cleaning Services Association (IJCSA).

Founded in 2013 by President and CEO Mia Howard, the company serves the full spectrum of commercial facilities—medical and dental offices, industrial and manufacturing plants, banks and financial institutions, government buildings, fitness centers, schools, auto dealerships, and corporate offices—ranging from roughly 7,000 to more than 300,000 square feet, with 24/7 availability across Upstate New York, New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey.

Every account, regardless of industry, runs on the same operation model: a dedicated, trained crew assigned to the facility rather than rotating staff, on-site supervision, fully insured and bonded operations, background-checked personnel, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)-10 and OSHA-30 trained teams.

For Howard, the standards have never been only about clean floors.

“I do my work in the background. In rooms most people never notice,” she said this June, accepting the Maude Bruce Community Impact Award at the Ulster County Black Business Community Celebration. “But every job is somebody’s peace of mind, every position is somebody’s livelihood, and every standard I set is a door I am trying to hold open for the people behind me.”

That philosophy—that a cleaning company’s real product is trust, and its real legacy is the people it employs and the communities it serves—earned Howard recognition in June from Congressman Patrick K. Ryan, New York State Senator Michelle Hinchey, Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger, and City of Kingston Mayor Steven T. Noble.

The company enters the second half of 2026 in growth mode, with a newly opened second office at 649 Morgan Avenue in Brooklyn, expanding its New York City operations, active hiring across its service regions, and capacity for additional multi-site commercial contracts.

Howard closed her June remarks with a commitment that doubles as the company’s trajectory: “I am just getting started. That is my promise to this community—and it is a promise I will not break.”
