Scensibles, a provider of solutions for the safe and hygienic disposal of period and personal care products, announces that Sophie Beckerman has joined the company as Director of Marketing and Growth.

In her new role, Beckerman will lead marketing and growth initiatives, bringing experience across consumer brands and software companies. She will focus on strengthening partnerships and advancing efforts to end period poverty through increased access to menstrual care products and advocacy for period-friendly restrooms.

“Having Sophie join the company marks an important milestone,” says Scensibles Founder Ann Germanow. “I’m excited for what we will build together as we continue to expand awareness and access to these essential solutions.”

More than 20 years ago, Scensibles didn’t just introduce a product—it helped create and redefine an overlooked category. At a time when menstrual care and disposal were largely ignored within the cleaning industry, Germanow led the conversation by exhibiting and speaking at ISSA/Interclean events, challenging industry leaders, and spearheading the development of best cleaning practices for stall waste receptacles. These practices were later accepted by ISSA and incorporated into Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) training, helping establish standards where none previously existed.

What began as a simple innovation—a discreet personal disposal bag with a tie-handle closure—has grown into a comprehensive system for the disposal of period and personal care products across commercial and consumer markets.

Today, Scensibles personal disposal bags are manufactured from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, reflecting a continued focus on more responsible material choices without compromising performance, reliability, or ease of use. Distributed through Hospeco Brands Group, Scensibles personal disposal bags are used on college campuses, including the University of Georgia and Clemson University, WEGMANS Food Markets, the State of Washington Ferry System, and additional facilities across the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean.

“We believe every menstruator deserves access to clean restrooms, free period products, and properly maintained disposal methods that support health, dignity, and safety,” says Germanow.
