SC Johnson Professional has officially opened registration for its annual Happy Hands dispenser design contest, inviting K–12 students across the United States to combine creativity with education by exploring the importance of regular hand washing and sanitizing in schools. The contest encourages students to design custom hand soap and sanitizer dispensers that visually reinforce good hand hygiene practices in school environments.
The contest is open to all public and private K–12 schools in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, with two entry categories: Elementary School (grades K–5) and Middle/High School (grades 6–12). Each student may submit one original dispenser design. All artwork must be mailed and postmarked by December 31, 2025.
Submissions will be judged on creativity, visual appeal, hand hygiene messaging, and originality. Finalists in each category will be announced on March 2, 2026. The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite designs on the Happy Hands contest website. Voting will remain open until March 31, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
The grand prize winners from each category will be announced in spring 2026. Each winning student will receive a $300 gift card, while their school will be awarded $1,000 and up to 1,000 manual soap and sanitizer dispensers featuring the student’s design.
Schools interested in participating in the contest can visit the Happy Hands website to register and view the complete Official Rules. After registering for the contest, schools will receive access to design templates and free hand washing educational materials for their students.
