Thank Your Cleaner Day is coming up on October 15th. To recognize all the janitors out there, Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) invites industry representatives to share a story about a professional cleaner that has impacted your life, or send thanks to all cleaners across the globe by sending in a Gather Voices video to BSCAI for a chance to be featured on their social channels.
If video isn't your thing, consider writing a note, giving a gift card, or even offer refreshments or snacks to show your appreciation for professional cleaners and their work that doesn't go unnoticed.
What is Thank Your Cleaner Day?
Occurring once per year, Thank Your Cleaner Day is a special day dedicated to celebrating all cleaners. Together with local partners from the participating countries, Kärcher wants to take the opportunity to thank the people who keep workplaces and public buildings clean, safe and hygienic. On October 15, 2025, office workers can let their cleaning staff know they recognize and value their work.
Thank Your Cleaner Day is a chance to say “Thank You!” for everyone working in a facility that is cleaned by professional cleaners, including office buildings, factories, or public schools. There are a variety of ways to thank your cleaners on this day and every day.
Where does Thank Your Cleaner Day come from?
Thank Your Cleaner Day first occurred in New Zealand in 2015, led by the local trade organization for Building Services Contractors (BSCNZ) in cooperation with Kärcher. BSCNZ has a strong network with the companies who provide professional cleaning services in the workplace arena. Thus, through their engagement, word about the Thank Your Cleaner Day spread widely and the Thank Your Cleaner day was a great success. In 2017, BSCNZ CEO Lillian Small was recognized for her effort in celebrating the unsung heroes of the cleaning industry at the “Cleaning for a Brighter Future” conference.
Together with similar local partners from participating countries, Kärcher looks to establish Thank Your Cleaner Day on a global level.
