For much of design history, facilities were created without considering accessibility. Historic infrastructure had the unfortunate byproduct of further marginalizing members of the public. Although society has evolved, commercial cleaning companies and operations continue to work toward equitable environments.
This July marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a federal law promoting the civil rights of individuals with disabilities. During Disability Pride Month, the public celebrates the lasting impacts of accessible areas and inclusive innovations. Creating and maintaining welcoming environments for all is a framework that benefits everyone.
