Kruger Products L.P., manufacturer of quality tissue products, announces that it has earned the 2013 Greening of the Supply Chain Award from the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters.
Currently in it’s fifth year, this distinction is awarded to a Canadian company that has initiated, implemented, and proven a corporate commitment to greening its supply chain, as well as reducing its carbon footprint. Kruger Products’ sustainable progress set the Company apart from the other two finalists, Toshiba and Celestica. Walmart won the award in 2012.
“It is a privilege to be recognized for our projects, large and small, that are contributing to lessening its impact on the environment,” says John O’Hara, Vice President of Logistics, Kruger Products. Specifically, the Company won this award because of it’s updated Supplier Policies, FSC certification, work in reducing logistics and transportation inefficiencies, and installation of innovative technologies to improve its sustainable performance, among other initiatives.
“The award is a real testament to our leadership and commitment to driving sustainable change within our company, our broader industry and the industries of our customers,” says Steven Sage, Vice President of Sustainability & Innovation, Kruger Products. “At the mid-‐way point of our Sustainability 2015 journey, we are proud of our progress and will continue to work hard to continue to find ways to evolve our operations.”
