Kiosk Self Cleaning

Lazenby Group, a manufacturer of self-service kiosks widely used in retail and hospitality sectors, has secured funding from NPIF II – Mercia Debt Finance. This valuable investment will enable the company to expand production and facilitate the global rollout of its latest innovation: the SafeTouch kiosk, which incorporates a self-sanitizing UVC light technology. This development may offer a significant advantage for businesses focused on public health and safety.

Lazenby Group's existing kiosks are familiar sights in various daily transaction points, including leading coffee chains, cinemas, parking lots, airport self check-in counters, and more. The SafeTouch kiosk takes a leap forward by integrating UVC light to actively kill germs on its surface after each use or shift. This automated disinfection process, which takes approximately 38 seconds, eliminates the need for manual cleaning or harsh chemicals. UVC light is a method for inactivating bacteria and viruses by damaging their DNA, making it a powerful tool for preventing the spread of pathogens on surfaces.

The funding will specifically support the construction of a new 8,000 sq ft facility at Lazenby's Hull headquarters, which will house an additional assembly line. This expansion could create up to 30 new jobs within the next five years, adding to the company's 28-strong team and boosting the local economy. The securing of a major contract from Collins Aerospace, a global airport services provider, to install SafeTouch kiosks at airports worldwide, is proof-of-concept for the demand and confidence in this product.
