Running a successful business is hard work. The last thing a facility cleaning manager, BSC, or jan/san distributor needs is to lose sleep over potential workplace injuries. However, it's well known these injuries occur and they're sometimes more prevalent in the cleaning industry. Luckily, there are things one can do to prepare.

OSHA has "letters of interpretation" to help businesses comply with its many regulations specific to the workplace. If there is something a business is worried about regarding regulations, they should check out these interpretation letters on OSHA's website. It's there that OSHA's subject matter experts write responses to common questions made by employers and employees. Recently letters addressed topics like trips and falls on steps, exposure to hazardous chemicals, forklift injuries, stairway width, and respirators for asbestos work.

Check out the page of letters here.
