The U.S. economy expanded by 3.8 percent in the second quarter of 2025, demonstrating a big improvement from previous estimates.

The Commerce Department disclosed the updated figure last week, which is much better than the 3.3 percent growth it had previously calculated, according to the Associated Press.

The improvement was helped by a rise in consumer spending.

The news is especially good considering GDP dropped in the year's first quarter for the first time in three years.

“The U.S. consumer remained a lot stronger than many thought, even in the midst of a stock market sell-off and a lot of trade uncertainty,” Heather Long, chief economist at Navy Federal Credit Union, wrote in a social media post.

Consumer spending and a improving economy is of course good news for a the cleaning industry, which always keeps close attention on the economy.
