Cleaning Company Celebrates 40 Years

Advanced Cleaning Service, a respected cleaning company in Tennessee, is celebrating 40 years in business this year. The company specializes in commercial janitorial services and residential specialty cleaning—including carpet cleaning, duct cleaning, rug cleaning, tile cleaning, upholstery cleaning, and pressure washing.

Founded in 1986 by Ken and Judy Conley, Advanced Cleaning Service cleans more than 80 buildings per night, with crews working 364 days a year. The janitorial division is led by Tyler Dunn, who brings a background in operations and an accounting degree from Tennessee Technological University. Dunn oversees training and quality checks to ensure every site meets the company’s rigorous standards. He has been with Advanced Cleaning Service for over 10 years.

For four decades, the Conleys have worked to exceed customer expectations. The business is currently owned and sustained by Kristy Herr, daughter of Ken and Judy Conley, who serves as Chief Operating Manager.

“We know the reason we are successful is our valuable customers and employees,” says Herr.

Active throughout the community, Herr has served on the Better Business Bureau Board of Directors, the Putnam County Library Board, and the TTU Angelo Volpe Library Board. She is a past president of the Friends of the Appalachian Craft Center of Tennessee (FACCT) and a past president and founder of Friends of Genesis House. Other community involvement includes former secretary of the Leadership Putnam Alumni Association, past member of the Vocational Advisory Council for Putnam County Schools, examiner for the Tennessee Quality Award, past vice president of the Storyteller Theatre Company, and former co-chairman of the Regional Quality Council.

Herr lives in Baxter with her husband, Chris, and their son, Trever. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Tennessee Technological University.
