Carolina Paper Co. (CPC) recently announced the purchase of three new converting machines.
The company ordered its first, fully-automated, high-speed converting machine to manufacture hardwound towels, jumbo roll tissue and centerpull towels. According to the manufacturer United Converting, the new machine will run at speeds almost 50 percent faster than CPC's current machines. CPC anticipates production with this machine staring in December 2012.
In addition, CPC purchased a folded dinner napkin machine as well as a slitter/sheeter machine designed to convert air laid paper stock into cloth replacement dinner napkins. Both machines will start production in June.
The addition of the three new machines, as well as new automation systems, will increase the efficiency of the entire plant, while adding significant capacity to CPC.
