California Cintas Honored For Safety Practices
Cintas Corporation’s Ontario, California rental facility services location received California Voluntary Protection Program Certification (VPP) certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the company announced in a statement.
VPP Star is OSHA’s highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health, earned by businesses who meet rigorous safety requirements. Cintas is the number one participant in the nation for companies with VPP sites, with approximately 250 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing VPP recognition by OSHA or the equivalent under a similar certifying body.
“This achievement is the result of a work culture based on a commitment to teamwork, strong leadership support, personal ownership of our facilities and ongoing continuous improvement,” says Jim Reeder, general manager at Cintas Ontario. “We will maintain this standard of safety and this award will serve as a reminder of the importance of sending everyone home injury and accident free every workday.”
Cintas has been involved with the VPP program since 2010, and currently, over 100 Cintas locations have achieved VPP Star status. Cintas also participates in similar programs in Canada, Mexico and Honduras.
Cintas and safety seem to be quite the team. A Cintas rental facility in Dayton, Ohio recently became the company’s 100th worksite to receive VPP Star certification from OSHA. Prior to that, OSHA honored Cintas Corporation’s location in Wichita, Kansas.
