The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is now offering free online training courses to help health care organizations better prevent and control infections, the American Hospital Association (AHA) announced on its website.

Developed by the AHA’s Health Research & Educational Trust, this batch of three courses focuses on hand hygiene, strategies for preventing healthcare acquired infections and competency-based training. According to the CDC website, eight more courses will be released near the end of September. Topics covered by those courses include environmental cleaning, MRSA, personal protective equipment and the business of infection prevention.

Each course is accredited for the CDC’s Training and Continuing Education Online (TCEO).
