Managed by Q bills itself as a one-stop shop for office managers to tackle all the things that keep a workplace working - including cleaning, according to an article on The Wall Street Journal website.
Other services include stocking up on supplies or offering employees yoga classes.
Managed by Q — or "Q" for short— can provide office managers via its app specialized personnel to do a range of services.
Q recently raised $30 million in Series C funding led by office-supplies retailer Staples Inc. The companies also have formed a cross-selling partnership that helps customers of either company to order products or services from the other.
With 800 full-time and part-time employees, Q hires staff to do jobs such as cleaning and maintenance. The company focuses on hiring employees instead of hiring contractors and gives them stock options, a 401(k) with matching funds, training, and opportunities for promotion.
For instance, Maria Masedo, 65, cleans an office for two hours daily during lunchtime through Managed by Q. Ben Body, owner of a carpet cleaning firm in San Francisco, says Q matches him with clients that otherwise would have been hard to get without hiring a sales person, the article said.
