Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) celebrates the life and leadership of past president Ronald “Ronnie” Baker, who passed away on Jan. 10, 2026.

Baker attended the University of Oklahoma, going on to the University of Missouri, where he received his bachelor's degree in Sociology and Government Business. Following graduation, he worked at his family’s window cleaning business before embarking on his own enterprise.

In 1972, Baker co-founded BG Service Solutions, a cleaning company that grew to over 6,000 associates across 10 states prior to its acquisition by ISS Facility Services, Inc. in 2008. While running a successful business, he was elected president of BSCAI. During his tenure, he advocated on behalf of building service contractors (BSCs) and sought to advance the industry. His legacy inspired others to lead with generosity, as philanthropy guided his leadership.

Baker's charitable endeavors include his board membership at Village Shalom, the Jewish Community Center, Flo Harris Foundation, Board of Bravo Vail, and B’nai Vail. Volunteering was a way to give back and connect with others. Baker's ability to form lasting, interpersonal relationships with members of his community and beyond speaks to his highly regarded character.

Aside from being a prominent figure in the commercial cleaning industry, he was best known as a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather to his family and friends. Baker cherished the people in his life and loved to make them laugh—his favorite pastime was pranking others. He is survived by his wife, Dierdre; children Dr. Kendra Perkins, Corey Baker, and Kevin Baker; and grandson Hillman Perkins.

Baker’s contributions impacted not just the industry but also the individuals who comprise it. His dedicated spirit and compassionate personality are what clients, colleagues, and companions will remember him fondly by.
