Aluf Plastics, one of North America's largest manufacturers of retail bags, institutional can liners, poly sheeting, and packaging products, announced the acquisition of substantially all of the operating assets of Mint-X. Through this acquisition, API expands its specialty packaging capabilities and strengthens its position in the odor-control products market.
The acquisition reflects Aluf Plastics' continued commitment to offering innovative products that solve everyday challenges for consumers, businesses, municipalities, and facility cleaning managers. Mint-X joins Aluf's growing portfolio of specialty technologies, including BioFlex, PestX, and Coex.
"At Aluf Plastics, we're always looking for innovative products that provide meaningful value beyond traditional waste collection," says Susan Rosenberg, President and CEO of Aluf Plastics. "We're excited to welcome the brand to the Aluf family and continue building on its success."
Mint-X is a unique technology that addresses a common problem for homeowners and commercial users alike. Mint-X trash bags feature a patented, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered mint-based formula that is embedded directly onto the plastic during manufacturing. The technology provides long-lasting scent distribution designed to help repel rats, raccoons, and squirrels without the use of sprays, traps, or harsh chemicals.
As part of the transaction, Mint-X CEO Jeff Dussich will join API Industries to help lead the continued growth of the Mint-X product line and support a seamless transition for customers.
"Building Mint-X has always been about creating innovative products that make everyday life easier," shares Dussich. "Joining API Industries gives us the manufacturing strength, resources, and distribution network to bring Mint-X to even more customers while continuing to innovate for the future."
API Industries will leverage its nationwide manufacturing footprint, advanced extrusion capabilities, and extensive distribution network to accelerate the growth of the Mint-X brand while expanding the product line into new sizes, markets, and retail channels.
