“Hero” Janitor Helped Stop School Gunman
A janitor helped stop the gunman during a recent shooting at Freeman High School south of Spokane, Washington, according to an article from KIRO7. The custodian helped detain the shooter after one student was killed and three others were injured.
Police said Joe Bowen confronted the gunman, got him to the ground and kept him there.
“He wants no recognition for what he did," Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich said, commending Bowen's actions and calling him a "hero."
The suspect, a former student of Freeman High School, is in custody.
