Mark Bozich, president of  NISSCO (National Independent Sanitary Supply Companies) announced that Cavalier, Inc. in Norfolk, Va. has been named NISSCO Distributor of the Year.  Bruce Heller, representing Cavalier, Inc. and his wife, Nicole, accepted the award at NISSCO's annual Buying Conference, recently held in Austin, Tex.

"Cavalier illustrates the success that independent distributors can attain when they embrace our full program offering and take advantage of the many NISSCO benefits available throughout the year," states Bozich.  "NISSCO is the only buying group that is solely committed to the independent distributor and the Supplier-Distributor-End-user distribution channel.  The success of Cavalier demonstrates how this business model excels in our industry when implemented correctly."

Cavalier, Inc. is considered the fastest growing specialty chemical and facility maintenance company in Virginia's Tidewater area, boasting impressive growth during the recession and adding local jobs.

"We heavily researched buying groups before deciding on NISSCO," explains Heller. "We wanted to be with a group that understands the JanSan market and is dedicated to its growth through the Supplier-Distributor-End-user relationship.  We knew we would be more than just a number to NISSCO and they would take an active interest in our success. Because of the NISSCO structure and the close relationships we've secured with manufacturers, we are able to excel in what we do ... meeting our customers needs."

Cavalier Inc. differentiates itself by focusing on education, systems and technology while bringing youth to an aging industry.   Its current owners, Scott Kershner, Jason Jones, and Bruce Heller, acquired the company in 2006, and have been NISSCO members since 2008.
