In October, more than 16,000 visitors will blow into the Windy City for the ISSA/INTERCLEAN® 2006 trade show. The five-day event will feature more than 700 exhibitors displaying the latest and most innovative products. Held at Chicago’s McCormick Place South, this years show reflects a diverse agenda.

Based on the success of last years show, there will once again be a variety of educational seminars and events aimed at a variety of jan/san professionals. On Wednesday, October 4, look for seminars such as Kathryne A. Newton’s “Find and Keep the Right Employees: without Stealing from the Competition!” On Thursday, October 5, Steve Ashkin will wade through the confusing jargon of green cleaning in “Sifting Through the Green Product Lexicon.” And look for the hard floor care and commercial carpet maintenance certification workshops that are offered throughout the show.

Visitors to this years show will benefit from the extensive networking opportunities for all segments of the industry, including the “All-Industry Networking Lunch” where participants get a chance to mingle and make valuable industry connections. ISSA also welcomes a new group to the show floor this year. DistriPakUSA will house its show in the same hall, providing a unique opportunity for members of similar industries to network and share tips.

Perhaps one of the most talked about events at this year’s show features former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani as the keynote speaker. The author of best selling book, Leadership, Giuliani outlines how 30 years of public service have given him the skills to become an effective leader. Following the presentation, audience members will have the opportunity to participate in a rare question and answer segment with Giuliani.

There will also be plenty of opportunities to unwind during the busy show day. Watch as performers present the industries newest products at “The ISSA Innovation Revue” where attendees will be offered the chance to vote on the most innovative products at the show. Take advantage of a much-deserved massage at the ISSA Relaxation Lounge or rest your feet at the ISSA Zone Sports Bar. But don’t rest too long because on Friday, the Blues Brothers will be really “shake’n” the place up with their show floor happy hour.
