BSCAI Members Hit the Jackpot with Contracting Success

The 2025Contracting Success Conference will make a triumphant return to the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Nov. 11-13, and it will almost certainly be the safest bet Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) members make on themselves all year. That’s because, once again, the association’s flagship event will feature a plethora of seminars, speakers and opportunities to network and connect with fellow industry professionals and return home with actionable strategies, wise counsel and renewed commitment to the work.

Attendees to Win Big with Extended Education Opportunities

There are so many topics on the docket for this year’s Contracting Success that attendees can roll the dice each day on an array of seminars and feel confident they will come out ahead. Though the first official day of regular seminars starts on Tuesday, Nov. 11, attendees arriving in Sin City earlier have the opportunity for additional education on Monday, Nov. 10

Indeed, Monday’s “Bidding & Estimating Seminar 101” from 8a.m.–11a.m. (all times PT) is designed to serve as an introductory price-setting course for industry newcomers. Presented by McLemore Building Maintenance CEO Curtis McLemore and York Building Services Inc. CEO Robert Rivadeneira, this session will cover best practices for workloading frontline staff, as well as for managing supplies and overhead and utilizing pricing models to maximize profit.

Those attendees looking for more of an advanced level of application for the same topic are invited to attend the “Bidding & Estimating Seminar 201.” It takes place the same day from 12p.m.-4p.m.and will spotlight more complex examples of the template demonstrated in the 101 level. The main presenter will be Philippe Mack of Bee-Clean Building Maintenance.

An alternate option is available the same day from 2p.m.– 6p.m. with “Plateaus of Growth,” presented by Paul Greenland of Ikigai Management Consultants and Maintenance Inc. President Sally Schopmeyer. This session will share applicable, step-by-step growth strategies for a broad array of current BSC valuations.

The show really gets going on Tuesday, Nov. 11, with the opening of the ISSA Show Exhibit Hall. For many BSCAI attendees, this is their favorite part of the multiday conference—cruising and perusing the show floor and checking out the various product reveals, innovation showcases, educational opportunities and more across hundreds of manufacturer booths.

Then, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. marks the beginning of Contracting Success 2025’s annual Networking Roundtables. These open forums welcome discussion on a number of key industry topics. BSCAI members can pick from preselected topics at designated tables, each of which is led by a facilitator tasked with guiding the conversations.

This same day, the BSCAI-centric “Productivity Seminar” from 1p.m. – 2:30 p.m. and the “Supervision Seminar” from 3p.m.–4:30 p.m. are timed and structured so that attendees can be present at both. The former will first focus on simple steps to sustainable productivity, then dive into the impact of quality supervision and operational leadership as pillars for both employee and customer retention. The latter “Supervision Seminar” will start by tackling common employee training challenges, then move towards an emphasis on employee communication—especially when it comes to boosting motivation and trust.

Wednesday, Nov. 12, represents the annual conference’s foundation: a series of peer-to-peer style breakout sessions. This year’s roster includes such intriguingly titled sessions as “Winning the Battle Against the Goliaths of the Industry,” “The Necessary Unpleasantness That Is Progressive Discipline,” and “No Leads Left Behind: Growing Your Sales One Lead at a Time.” Other more practical sessions range from “Empowering Your Team: The Benefits of Delegation” to “The Heart of Retention: Caring for the People Who Power Your Business.”

Conference attendees oversee these peer-to-peer sessions, eager to share their experiences and expertise across 45-minute windows throughout the morning and afternoon. On Wednesday, BSCAI will also host an Awards Luncheon from 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. where the organization’s CLEAN Award Winners are announced and recognized on stage for their industry achievements. Among the prestigious honors to be bestowed are the James E. Purcell Leadership Award, the Skip Marsden Award and the Walter L. Cook Award for Distinguished Service.

Thursday, Nov. 13, will be the final day of Contracting Success 2025, and the peer-to-peer sessions will continue with such forward-thinking topics as “Maximizing Success in Healthcare Cleaning: Essential Knowledge, Resources and Certifications” and “AI Unlocked: Innovation, Efficiency & The Future of Contracting.” A second “AI Unlocked” session will feature a networking roundtable comprised of industry pros like Bright go Inc. CEO Gerald Fong, Client Point President and CEO Andy Jedynak, and others.

Contracting Success has always welcomed to the stage a keynote speaker of great accomplishment and compelling entertainment value, and 2025 is no different. Presenting from4:30p.m. – 6p.m. on Wednesday is futurist Crystal Washington, who specializes in equipping organizations with the knowledge they need to become “future-proof.” As a technology strategist and certified futurist, her clients include such Fortune 100 companies as American Express, Google and Pfizer.

One of Forbes’ 50 Leading Female Futurists, Washington appears weekly on season two of the Emmy-nominated show “Life 2.0.” She has also contributed to a number of business publications, including Entrepreneur and Bloomberg Businessweek. Washington is the author of “One Tech Action” and “The Social Media Why.” Her keynote address is titled “Future-Proof Yourself: Innovate and Thrive in Times of Uncertainty.”

What Happens in Vegas Will Stay with Attendees

The keynote and peer-to-peer sessions are certain to provide a lot of current industry insight for BSCs. However, what keeps so many association members coming back to Contracting Success each year are the contacts they make and the evergreen value of those connections. Knowing the value of networking, BSCAI has laid out a broad variety of opportunities for introductions, reunions or just in-the-moment, simple chats in a relaxed environment throughout each day.

Whether it’s mastering a strategy for future business growth or getting in good with a group of attendees who you can share tips and lessons learned for years to come, the only way to not gain an edge from Contracting Success 2025 is not to attend at all. When it comes to contract cleaning events, there will be no better opportunity for education and networking this year.
