Investigating Industry Innovations

By Taylor Vraney, Assistant Editor

An investigation at ISSA Show North America 2025 reveals cleaning industry trends and innovations. A recent addition to the cleaning industry, Taylor Vraney, Assistant Editor for CleanLink.com, attended the trade show to learn more about the innovations and trends members want to learn about in upcoming coverage.

Autonomous machines and AI technology continue to be an important facet of the jan/san industry. This is an evolving sector where building service contractors (BSCs) and facility cleaning managers continue to seek out sustainable solutions for meeting budgetary needs.

The show also introduced tools to support cleaning efficacy and improve staff safety. Backpack vacuums and upright floor scrubbers, such as those provided by ProTeam and Pudu Robotics, were frequently featured at multiple booths. Both types of equipment promoted a quality standard of clean for carpets and flooring, while factoring in the ergonomics required for custodial health and wellbeing.

Along with new products, companies provided exploratory demonstrationsfrom Kaivac’s spray-and-vac system to Unger's window squeegees. Attendees sought out products that had multipurpose applications. Moreover, visitors were able to test out the equipment, providing an opportunity to feel and practice their application.

Overall, this trade show portrayed how the industry is constantly changing to meet the needs of the people who use these tools and the facilities that employ them. Multiple distributors, facility cleaning executives, and BSCs attended to provide both their expertise and gain valuable insights.

Taylor Vraney is an Assistant Editor for CleanLink.com, Facility Cleaning Decisions, Contracting Profits, and Sanitary Maintenance.
