Floor Care: 80,000 Square Foot Retail Facility Stripped And Waxed In One Night

It was an emergency! Friday afternoon, a facilities manager from a large retail chain called Dave Olmo, of First Choice Building Maintenance in Deerfield Beach, Fla. The store’s 80,000 square foot floors desperately needed to be stripped and recoated with wax by Monday morning’s inspection by the retail chain’s regional vice president.

Aztec Product’s Sidewinder System came to the rescue. Olmo and his crew got to work with the Aztec Liquidator, spreading strip solution at a rate of 30,000 square feet an hour, with two Aztec Products’ Sidewinder Stripping Machines and two Aztec Guzzler sludge retrievers following close behind.

Four hours later the entire floor was stripped, neutralized and ready to wax. A few coats of finish later, Olmo’s crew was on their way home. The facilities manager’s recommendations led to 12 more stores for Olmo’s company.
