Breakers Hotel Breaks Away from Water-Using Urinals
Palm Beach, Fla., is currently experiencing one of the most severe droughts in the exclusive town’s history.
Rainfall is six inches below normal—so low that current reservoirs can no longer provide for the community. As a result, some of the most stringent water-conservation programs have now been instituted in the town.
The famed Breakers Hotel is the largest employer in Palm Beach…as well as one of its biggest water users. However, Breakers managers have taken steps to reduce water consumption that are proving to have beneficial results.
For instance, they have:
• Installed low-flow faucets and toilets
• Implemented towel and linen reuse programs
• Replaced water-using urinals with No-Water systems from Waterless Co., Inc.
The hotel management reports they have reduced water consumption by one million gallons of water per year while still maintaining complete guest satisfaction.
