Restroom Care: No More Fall Surprises
During summer months, many schools and universities close unused buildings until the school season starts anew.
After these months of little or no attention being paid to these closed facilities, facility managers are often in for a nasty surprise when these facilities are re-opened in the fall. These facilities develop a distinct malodor, which is sometimes terrible.
“What happens is that floor and sink drains often dry up,” says Billy McAllister with P.V.Sullivan Supply Co., Inc., Quincy, Mass. “When that happens, sewer gasses are released, which permeate the entire facility with odors.”
But, McAllister says, more and more facility managers have learned there is a quick and easy way to prevent this from happening.
“All they need to do is pour EverPrime™ into the drains,” he says.
With EverPrime®, developed by Waterless® Co. LLC, three ounces are mixed with a gallon of water and poured down drains. This prevents drains from drying up, not only for the summer, but for months to come.
“It’s one of the most inexpensive malodor safeguards around,” says McAllister. “Now, when school buildings are reopened, there are no nasty surprises; buildings are clean and odor free.”
