As sporting fans prepare for March Madness, facilities are prepping for the Big 12 conference’s newest flooring. The ASB GlassFloor LED court, previously utilized throughout the EuroLeague and for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, uses integrated technology to display digital graphics beneath the surface. This innovative flooring, first featured at the recent women’s basketball tournament, will also be utilized during the men’s games.
The 2026 Phillips 66 Big 12 tournaments—to be held at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri—are the first official U.S. college basketball competitions to feature this glass flooring. The flooring is spring-action metal with embedded LED lights, covered by a glass top surface with a dark ceramic coating. The flooring not only ensures operational longevity—its projected lifespan is 25 years—it is also safer for athletes.
To ensure the flooring remains safe for game play, frontline staff will use high-quality glass cleaning products. Streak-free cleaners will be applied alongside electronic wipes to clean the glass surface without damaging the electronic interface.
