At the annual BOMA Florida meeting, the BOMA Florida Green and Sustainability Committee announced the creation of a joint BOMA Florida and United States Green Building Council (USGBC) synergy to promote state wide green and sustainability forums for all BOMA and USGBC locals. It also provides a united front helping the State of Florida achieve Governor Christ's executive order 07-126 of green and sustainability initiatives of all state of Florida owned and leased properties. USGBC and BOMA Florida are creating gatekeepers at each BOMA local association in Florida to provide support workshops and educational seminars to promote green and sustainability initiatives. The understanding for USGBC and BOMA Florida mirrors the BOMA International and USGBC Memorandum of Understanding and Intent agreed upon in November 2006.
