Green Cleaning: Making Floor Care Greener
When a major Chicago university decided to transfer to green cleaning, and began using environmentally preferable cleaning chemicals and equipment, the school’s administrators found it relatively easy — until it came time to selecting a green floorcare machine.
Most floor machines, especially conventional buffers have changed very little in the past few decades. However, a new technology has been developed that helps make floor machines Greener and more environmentally responsible. And this system, the administrators soon discovered not only helps protect the environment but is cost effective as well: the cylindrical brush floorcare technology from Tornado.
That’s because cylindrical floor machines use brushes, not pads. The brushes can last up to 100 times longer than a typical rotary pad, significantly reducing the amount of cleaning waste carried away to landfills. Not only does this make these machines more environmentally responsible, but it is a major cost savings to the school as well.
Also, unlike rotary machines, which glide over the top-surface of floors, the brushes on cylindrical machines penetrate deep into the pores and grout of floors, removing soils and contaminants without the need for more worker effort or cleaning solution.
This often means that less water and chemical are necessary to deep clean floors, because the brushes do all the work. Less waste, less chemical, less water, less effort, and reduced costs — cylindrical floor machines proved to be winners all around for these school administrators.
