Floor-Care Chemicals: School District Puts Floor Finish To The Test

Allegheny School District wanted an easier, faster way to prepare and maintain their wood floors. But, Custodial Manager Wally High was most concerned about the amount of time they spent prepping the floor.

"We had to screen the floor, wait for the dust to settle and tack it two or three times before we could apply the finish," says High. "We then had to wait two days for the finish to dry."

But, with the help of Essential Industries and Sport Kote, High was able to recoat his wood floors in one day.

"Essential's program saved us so much time from the way we did it last year! Also, the fact that we propane burnish gives us the option to maintain our wood floor just like we do our hallways — we've never had that option before."
