Exterior Care: Caring for Parking Structure Is His Baby

During a recent tour of a downtown Santa Monica, Calif., parking structure, maintenance worker Arturo Gonzalez pointed to clean floors, walls from which graffiti has been removed, and spotless bathrooms.

To Gonzalez, the parking structure is like a small child. He is one of a dozen workers taking part in an enhanced maintenance program tasked with improving the condition of Santa Monica's parking structures, which are often the welcoming point for visitors to the city's downtown area.
Gonzalez says that they have been getting lots of positive feedback from visitors, “especially when it comes to the condition of the bathrooms.”

He thinks this is because they are now using a new technology to clean their restrooms: the Kaivac No-Touch Cleaning System.

“The machine allows workers to hygienically clean the restrooms,” says Gonzalez. “The Kaivac pressure washes the restrooms and then vacuums up the liquid, fast and easy.”
