The United Group elected Rich Ribakove to the Board of Directors during the Stockholders Meeting March 18, 2008, at the group’s National Conference in Las Vegas. Ribakove, who is president of Mooney-General Paper Co., Hillside, N.J., graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management and marketing in 1976 and from Brooklyn Law School with a Juris Doctor degree in 1979. He joined MGP in 1991 and became president in 2006.

Vince Cleary Jr., president, Cantwell-Cleary Co. Inc., Landover, Md., will take Ribakove’s place as one of the Industrial-Packaging executive vice presidents of THE UNITED GROUP. A graduate of Saint Francis College in Loretto, Pa., with a degree in Business Management and Finance, Cleary began working at Cantwell-Cleary in 1989. He became president in 2005.

THE UNITED GROUP promoted Debbie Norred to senior vice president of vendor relations in December of 2007.  She will work with the group’s Preferred Suppliers to increase sales, and she will continue to coordinate the National Conference. Norred attended Northeast Louisiana University where she majored in Business Administration. She came on-board THE UNITED GROUP in 1990 as administrative coordinator.

Also in December of 2007, David Calloway accepted the position of vice president of THE UNITED GROUP. He will create and implement programs that develop new business for the group and that provide value-added services for the Member Stockholders. Calloway graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He worked at Unisource for 14 years, beginning in 1991. He has also worked for Sellers Wipers & Absorbents, Milwaukee; Network Services, and Associated Paper Inc., Conyers, Ga.
