Union Launches "Justice For Janitors" In Canadian Capital
Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 2 has formed a union with 350 workers of a building service contractor in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, launching the first “Justice For Janitors” movement in that city. Employees of Hallmark Housekeeping Services have a new contract that includes wage increases.
Similar campaigns have been launched in other Canadian cities including Toronto and Montreal. “Justice For Janitors” aims to raise industry standards across entire cities to raise wages and improve working conditions.
