According to CBS4 reports, the University of Miami Janitors will soon see contract resolutions after a long battle. Workers walked off the job earlier this year in a dispute over wages and health insurance. Following the strike, the University of Miami insisted its contractor, UNNICO, improve wages and benefits for all workers at the university, which UNNICO agreed to. The strike then continued as workers fought for union representation.

Now, working with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), workers are close to having an approved contract. Employees will vote on the proposed contract this week. A spokesperson for the union said the contract includes better health insurance, improved wages, and more vacation time.
