Although national reports have died down, facility executives are not out of the woods when it comes to H1N1 (swine flu). Reports of confirmed cases have been popping up — particularly in schools — across the country.

In Conn., three confirmed H1N1 cases in one school sent parents scrambling to pick up children when school officials closed the facility for deep cleaning. Similar cleaning steps are being taken in Cal. after a high school senior came down with H1N1.

In Wis., another school closing adds one more notch in a growing tally of reported cases. Wis. reportedly harbors more confirmed H1N1 cases than any other state.

The H1N1 flu virus is still threatening facilities throughout the U.S. and health officials are encouraging cleaning managers to step up deep cleaning procedures with custodial crews and encourage proper hand washing and hygiene to building occupants.
