Suzanne Sears Receives W.A. Marsteller Award
he Business Marketing Association (BMA) is pleased to announce the 2008 winner of the association’s W.A. Marsteller Award: Suzanne Sears, Vice President of Global Market Development for Kimberly-Clark Professional.
Sears received the award for her proven track record of driving innovative and successful marketing programs and for developing an integrated, consistent global branding strategy for Kimberly-Clark Professional, the almost $3 billion business segment of Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Sears dedicated the award to her Global Kimberly-Clark Professional team, whom she credits for the leading-edge work they are doing in the b-to-b area and for the passion, dedication and drive that have helped transform their marketing and sales organization.
Sponsored by Burson-Marsteller, the W.A. Marsteller Award recognizes a corporate marketing executive who has shown consistent, zealous support and belief in business-to-business marketing and marketing communications as a critical component in their company’s success. This year’s award was presented to Sears during the BMA’s annual conference in Las Vegas, Nev., on June 13.
“We had many strong contenders from outstanding companies for the award this year,” explained Thor Harris, BMA Vice President, Recognition Programs. “However, Sears’ experience, commitment and innovative approach to b-to-b marketing made her the overwhelming choice.”
Appointed Vice President of Global Market Development for Kimberly-Clark Professional in 2006, Sears is responsible for driving global growth of the b-to-b business through the development of global customer management strategies, including global national accounts, new and expanded channels of distribution as well as developing global marketing strategies for the business segment of Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
Sears has been instrumental in helping Kimberly-Clark Professional engage in innovative marketing initiatives targeting the b-to-b segment, including consolidating more than 80 global brands into seven, with consistent brand promises, logos and communication strategies. She also led the development and execution of the first Kimberly-Clark Professional Global Marketing Capability and Effectiveness Program, which provided all global marketers with the tools and capability programs required to drive marketing excellence and consistency globally.
The W.A. Marstellar Award was established in 2002 to honor the memory and contributions to business-to-business marketing made by the long career of William A. Marstellar. Sears is the second woman to receive this award.
