Stone Care International, Inc. acquired by Homax Holdings, Inc.
Announced earlier this month by Homax President, Ross Clawson, Homax Holdings, Inc. has acquired the stock of Stone Care International.
Stone Care International, based in Baltimore, Maryland, is a manufacturer and marketer of premium countertop and floor care products. They provide consumers with safe and effective solutions for care of granite, marble, limestone, slate, ceramic and porcelain tile, grout, solid surfaces such as Corian and engineered stone such as Silestone. Established in 1994, Stone Care International develops and markets cleaners, sealants, polishes, and stain removal products under the SCI brand in their trademark black and gold bottles. SCI liquid, spray, and wipe products are available at more than 3,000 retail outlets nationwide, including home centers, hardware stores, tile and stone dealers and kitchen and bath showrooms.
Homax Holdings, Inc. supplies high-quality, consumer friendly, DIY and contractor products, including aerosol drywall textures, drywall repair products, painting accessories, paint strippers, steel wool abrasives, specialty cleaners, odor control products, tile care products and kitchen and bath accessories. These products are sold under the Homax, Magic, Goo Gone, Myro, Gonzo, Jasco, BIX, Tile Guard, Rhodes American, Squirrel Mixer, Natural Magic, and now, Stone Care International brands. These branded products are carried nationally at paint dealers, home centers, mass merchandisers, hardware stores, and specialty retailers.
Ross Clawson, President of Homax Holdings, said the acquisition of Stone Care International will enhance the company’s growth strategy. He commented, “This is a great opportunity for Stone Care International and Homax Holdings. The acquisition of Stone Care International will enable us to further expand in the flooring and countertop care markets with another top-selling nationally recognized brand, as well as enhance our reach into tile and stone specialty retailers.” Mr. Clawson also expects expansion of existing SCI product lines through new product development.
