A local Jan San company has been the first company in its field to be awarded Champion Partner status under the SDSI program with the EPA’s Design for the Environment.

Solutex, Inc. of Sterling, Virginia, has been recognized by the E.P.A.’s Design for the Environment’s Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative Program as a Champion Partner.

Charles Moody, President of Solutex, stated “we are honored and proud to be the first Jan San and Facility Maintenance product supplier in the US to receive this award.”

Under the SDSI program companies eliminate the usage of less environmentally friendly APE’s and NPE’s. These are surfactants that are common in many cleaning products but do not biodegrade as quickly as new, safer surfactants, such as LAE’s. Solutex appreciates the many manufacturers and the EPA’s DfE for the help and guidance that allowed them to make this Green commitment and hope that other Jan San supply companies will do the same.
